Anticipated Ethereum 2.0 Sees 50,000 ETH Deposits Ahead Of Launch

According to from Dune Analytics, Ethereum users have deposited over 50,000 ETH into the Ethereum 2.0 contract. The amount deposited is about 9.69% of the total assets needed to launch the anticipated Ethereum 2.0 upgrade on the 1st of December.

The data revealed that Ethereum 2.0 now holds ETH worth more than $22 million. Dune Analytics noted that the funds were from 249 “unique depositors.”

According to a Decrypt , 13,888 ETH of the total deposited funds came from one address. This represents 27% of the entire ETH committed into the upcoming Ethereum 2.0. The report added that the second-largest depositor committed 6,400 ETH.

In addition, the third-highest depositor committed 3,200 ETH in funds. The three top depositors hold about 46% of the entire Ethereum 2.0 funds. Notably, the third-largest depositor is the co-founder of Ethereum, Vitalik Buterin.

Despite the funds raised within a week, Ethereum 2.0 still needs an additional 473,956 ETH for the required minimum stake of 524,000 ETH. After the rush in the inflow of deposits, the number of deposits is gradually reducing. Dune Analytics said 1,596 ETH was sent on the 9th of November. The minimum amount for staking, 32 ETH, has also been sent today, the 10th of November.

Upon successful upgrade, Ethereum would shift from its current proof-of-work design to a proof-of-stake consensus mechanism.
