Monday’s launch by the Ukrainian government of a website with crypto-firms FTX, Everstake and Everstake will allow donations to be funnelled to Ukraine’s central banking as it fights a Russian invasion.
Users can make donations to the “Aid for Ukraineā website in 10 cryptocurrency options, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether and Dogecoin.
Oleksandre Borniakov (Ukraine’s deputy minister for Digital Transformation) said that cryptocurrencies played a significant part in Ukraine’s defense.
He said that cryptocurrency assets had been extremely useful in facilitating the flow funding to Ukrainian soldiers and citizens, as well as raising awareness and interest among global public.
Everstake, a crypto company that is one of the most important in Ukraine, will let users make donations in other currencies than those listed on its site.
In the future, the site will allow users to donate non-fungible tokens.
FTX, a Bahamas-based exchange platform, was founded by Sam Bankman-Fried (US billionaire). It will convert donated funds into dollars and route them towards the National Bank of Ukraine.
