Unocoin announces FASTag payment services for cryptocurrency users

Unocoin, a Bengaluru-based tech startup and India’s first entry into the bitcoin market, announced on September 21 the launch of a new feature in their app that allows users to top up their FASTag accounts and facilitates interstate travel.

This facility is available to app users who deposit or buy Bitcoin in the Unocoin wallet along with a pre-secured FASTag stickers. However, a user can choose from any of the 17 operators on the platform.

After selecting the vehicle, the user will need to enter the vehicle registration number as well as the FASTag top up amount. If you have enough bitcoin, the minimum amount can be Rs 100. The maximum amount can go up to Rs 10,000. The creation of a FASTag is free and there are no additional charges or expenses. Users can also make unlimited transactions during the day.

We introduced bitcoin as a payment method for FASTag in an effort to celebrate the increase in Crypto users. Unocoin hopes to facilitate interstate travels and encourage more Indians adopt this seamless method of payment for other transactions,” CEO & Cofounder of Unocoin stated.

FASTag, which is operated by the National Highway Authority of India (a mandatory payment system), allows vehicles to pay their tolls electronically. This platform allows for electronic toll deductions, without the need to wait in long lines.
